Capital Projects

The support of generations of families and Old Haleians has helped build the outstanding facilities at the Wembley Downs campus.

In the current era, all families contribute to a Building Fund through payment of an Endowment Fee when their son is enrolled.  Each payment contributes to building Hale’s endowment fund, an important investment that ensures Hale’s financial security and contributes to costs associated with the existing campus that is enjoyed by students from their very first day.

From time to time, the Hale School Foundation will reach out to the Hale community seeking additional financial support for specific projects.  At these times we ask all families to consider the generosity of generations past and our responsibility to the next generation of boys.

Supporting the School in realising these capital projects helps to maintain and develop outstanding facilities and an exceptional learning environment for all students, now and into the future.

Capital Project Pipeline

The Board of Governors has a pipeline of capital projects  which will bring exciting new offerings for a Hale School education, address growing curricular needs and provide important maintenance and upkeep for existing facilities on campus.

The Memorial Hall and Performing Arts Precinct

The redevelopment of Memorial Hall is the catalyst for an exciting new performing arts precinct with two new drama studios, multipurpose 220-seat theatre, two new house hubs, and two classrooms, broadcast quality recording studio and editing suite for the recently introduced ATAR subject of Media Studies.

Science Block

Science is currently taught in S block in facilities originally built when the School moved to the Wembley Downs campus in 1961.  Demand for curriculum choices in the Sciences remains very high at Hale School, and this is not anticipated to change.  Replacement or renovation of these facilities is a high priority consideration for the current Board of Governors.

Exmouth Campus

The Exmouth Basecamp property was purchased in 2014 with the help of the Hale School Foundation.  The vision for Hale’s Year 9 Outdoor Education experience is to create a more permanent satellite campus allowing for extended stay and greater opportunities to expand the Outdoor Education experience in Exmouth.

Senior School Gymnasium

Hale School offers world class sporting fields and facilities, including a 50m Aquatic Centre for the PSA and curricular sport offerings.  Updating and expanding the Senior School Gymnasium is a high priority to expand capacity, and bring this facility in line other facilities on campus.
